Shriniwas khale well known as khale kaka was one of all time favorite music composer in marathi & hindi music industry in india.Indian music industry is in deep grief of sad demise of khale kaka.He was one of the most respected artists in the Marathi music industry for over six decades. He was the recipient of Padma Bhushan award in 2010.
Shriniwas khale alias khale kaka was from a village called Parali in Kokan-Raigad zilla, Maharashtra, India.He composed numerous songs in five languages like marathi,gujrati,hindi,bengali and sanskrit.He worked with many artists in bollywood like gan kokila lata mageshkar,asha bhosle,mohd. rafi,manna dey,suresh wadkar & many more.Khale Kaka was also the only musician to bring along two Bharat Ratna recipient singers, Smt Lata Mangeshkar and Pandit Bhimsen Joshi for a Hindi bhajan (devotional song) album Ram Shyam Gun Gan. His last album "Nath Maza Mi Nathancha" was released in September 2009 which includes Abhangas Bhaktigeetas by Saint Krishnadas.
Shriniwas Khale began his music lessons with Kanchanlal, a gujrati music teacher. He continued then with Pt. Bansilal Bharati, Gulam Rasool, Aftaab e Mousiqui Faiyaaz Khan Sahab, Ustad Atta Hussainkhan and then Pt. Madhusudan Joshi. It was from the latter two that he learned the Agra gharana gayaki.He began his journey as a music director for All India Radio (AIR) in 1945. He went on his first Gujarati recording of Talat Mahmood in Gramaphone Company India Limited in 1950.He had left home to pursue his career in music from Baroda. In 1970 Shrinivas Khale - Ek Sankalan by Mauj Publishers was released for completing 25 years as a successful music director. He was profiled in Who's Who London (1978), Voice of America (1988), Radio Sydney, Australia (2000). In 2009 Datta Marulkar wrote a book Antaryami Surr Gavasala about Khale.
Shankar mahadevan one the best music composer & singer of bollywood music industry learnt lessons of music from khale kaka when he was just 10 year old.Shriniwas khale most of marathi hits songs were written by well known marathi poet & his good friend Shri Mangesh Padgaonkar .Songs written & compose by duo were so famous in marathi music industry.Finally,shriniwas khale alias khale kaka took his last breath at the age of 85 in his house in neighbouring Thane this month on 2 september 2011 of short illness.He was survived by wife & three daughters.May god give peace to his soul.

His all tunes was Marvelous the way hi has created intense songs like "Ya chimnyano" ,"Ek talyat hote","Gele te din gele" ..was superb bt he compose a child song like Gori gori pan ..the Lavani-"Kalidar kapuri pan"
